We are a small private club, so we do not run group coaching sessions or hold competitions for adults or young people. However, the club does have a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of its members including children, young people, and adults considered vulnerable/at risk while they are participating in fishing at our club.
As a member of the Angling Trust, our club operates within the safeguarding policies laid down by the Trust, which are available for you to read on other pages of our website.
We also have an appointed club Welfare Officer (see details below) to ensure the policies are adhered to, and to respond to incidents reported by the members.
Further information including policies, procedure and guidelines is available on the Angling Trust website: http://www.anglingtrust.net/safeguarding/policies
Children and young people
From a safeguarding perspective, children and young people are anyone under the age of 18 years, which the club considers as junior members. Our website has rules that apply to junior members including:
Junior members must be accompanied by an adult member at all times. No junior member shall fish without the full supervision of an adult member.
The club requires the accompanying adult to be a parent, official guardian, or carer who is also a member of the club.
Adults at risk
From a safeguarding perspective, adults at risk (anyone who is aged 18 years or over) are those who have health or social care needs and who are unable to safeguard themselves as a result. The club recognises that we may have members who are vulnerable and as such the club is here to help.
Please contact the Club Welfare Officer (details below) should you wish to discuss anything related to safeguarding.
Reporting a welfare or safeguarding incident or concern
The Club’s Welfare Officer phone number is available below, and their email address is available on the Club Incident Reporting form which is available for download from this page. In the event of an emergency and you are unable to contact the Welfare Officer, please call the Police immediately.
Please download and complete the form with as much information as possible and email it to the Welfare Officer as soon as possible. You will receive a response to confirm your email has been received, and information regarding any further actions to be taken.
Blank forms are also available from the club hut. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE COMPLETED FORMS IN THE HUT. Instead contact the Welfare Officer for further information.
